Azerbaijan, for its economic growth, has turned into an attractive country for migrants, and the number of migrants has significantly increased in recent years, the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC) Sattar Mehbaliyev said Sept. 10.
He made the remarks at a conference titled "The problem of migration of young people", held in Baku jointly by the ATUC and the Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).
Mehbaliyev said Azerbaijan pays special attention to migration issues.
He went on to add that thorough work has been carried out in recent years to improve the legislation on migration.
Mehbaliyev also said important measures have been taken to improve the regulatory framework, and international conventions and documents have been signed.
