The 4th conference of oncologists of CIS countries will be held in Baku in September, Trend reports quoting Jamil Aliyev, the head of the Oncology Scientific Center told a ceremony of foundation of a new surgical corps of the Oncology Center.
The organization of the forum in Baku testifies for high estimation of the Azerbaijani oncologists work in near and far foreign countries.
The head of the Center noted that the new surgical corps will provide for conduct of up to 3-3,500 surgery a year. Thus, there will be no queue for conduct of such surgery in the country. At present around 600 surgeries are conducted in the country.
The Azerbaijani Oncology Center will become a regional leader. At present the Center is receiving appeals with request of transferring conduct of surgeries from Georgia, Iran and other countries. The surgery will be payable for foreign citizens, while for local residents it is free of any charge. The parliament has adopted a law which envisages the conduct of free medical treatment.
