Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Deputy of Milli Majlis [Azerbaijani Parliament], Evda Abramov, said that the newly-created Azerbaijani-Israeli International Association will play a major role in developing the relations between two countries.
Abramov said that work had been carried out for many years to create such an organization. " Azerbaijan already has a strong diaspora in Israel which is capable of functioning at an international level. This diaspora organization will assist in expanding friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Israel," Abramov said. According to him, the Association will mainly present to the attention of the Israeli community the realities about Azerbaijan and all processes occurring within the Country. "It is the key goal of the Association," he stressed. He stated that the local organizations will be created in the regions of Israel. According to him, the Azerbaijani-Israeli International Association will co-operate with Jewish communities functioning in various countries around the world, including the USA. "At present one of the key goals is that the Jewish diasporas functioning in the USA and other European countries come together and fight towards a unified goal," the Deputy said. According to him, the joint activities of the Azerbaijani, Jewish and Turkic diaspora organizations are significant. "If such a unity is created, it will be possible to fight strongly against the Armenian lobby," Abramov said. Azerbaijani-Israeli International Association was created on 13 April. The constituent conference was attended by the senior officials and parliamentarians of Azerbaijan and Israel and representatives of the diplomatic representations.
