Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / The Investigation Station of Yasamal District Police Department is continuing investigations over the fact of beating of the Department Chief of Gundelik Azerbaijan newspaper, Uzeyir Jafarov. Investigator Rafig Aliyev said on 27 April that Jafarov suspects Tatiana Chaladze of the incident. Therefore, Police Department No. 27 is in charge of finding and making answerable Chaladze.
A criminal case has been filed over the fact in compliance with the article 132 (beating) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic. The results of Jafarov's medical examination have not been announced yet.
Jafarov had been beaten on 20 April by unknown persons while leaving the editorial office of the newspaper. He was hospitalized in Medical Clinical Center.
