Iran’s aluminum plant to be commissioned by late November

Iran’s South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) will launch its plant by the end of November in a Special Economic Energy Zone in Iran’s Pars province, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

Production is planned at 300,000 tons per year during the first phase of the plant, according to the report.

Initial production is expected at 100,000 tons, with its subsequent expansion next Iranian year (starting from March 21, 2020).

The plant will produce 1 million tons of steel annually when its third phase is commissioned.

Investments worth $1 billion will be made in the plant’s project and it will employ 1,200 people.

The plant was built by IMIDRO and Ghadir Investment Group.
