Georgian banks’ net profit reaches record high in 1H2021

Georgian banks’ net profit hit a record high in 1H2021, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

As reported, 15 commercial banks received a profit of 1.06 billion lari ($341.5 million) in total, which exceeded the rates of 2020, as well as 2019.

According to the National Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank earned the largest profit in 1H2021, which totaled to 485.8 million lari ($156.5 million).

TBC Bank is followed by Bank of Georgia in the ranking with a profit of 434.8 million lari ($140.1 million). Some 90 percent of total profit of the sector accounts for three largest banks.

Rating of Georgian Banks according to profits for 1H2021:

1. TBC Bank - net profit of 485.81 million lari ($140.1 million);
2. Bank of Georgia - net profit of 434.87 million lari ($);
3. Liberty Bank - net profit of 23.24 million lari ($7.4 million);
4. VTB Bank Georgia - net profit of 19.36 million lari ($6.2 million);
5. ProCredit Bank - net profit of 19.35 million lari ($6.2 million);
6. Credo Bank - net profit of 16.52 million lari ($5.3 million);
7. Cartu Bank - net profit of 16 million lari ($5.1 million);
8. Basisbank - net profit of 15.62 million lari ($5.03 million);
9. Terabank - net profit of 15.03 million lari ($4.8 million);
10. Halyk Bank Georgia - net profit of 7.64 million lari ($2.4 million);
