Novorossiysk port reduces oil shipping by more than 16%

In January-July 2014 the Russian international sea trade port of Novorossiysk shipped 45.87 million tonnes of oil versus 54.72 million tonnes in the same period of last year

In January-July 2014 the Russian international sea trade port of Novorossiysk shipped 45.87 million tonnes of oil versus 54.72 million tonnes in the same period of last year, says a statement posted Aug. 19 on the website of the port.

During the reporting period the port of Novorossiysk shipped about 17.1 million tonnes of oil versus about 15 million tonnes in January-July 2013.

In total, in January-July the port handled 79.74 million tonnes of cargo, compared to 83.28 million tonnes during the same period of last year, the report says.

In 2013, the port of Novorossiysk shipped about 91.74 million tonnes of oil, compared to 110.83 million tonnes in 2012. Last year, the port handled 24.2 million tonnes of petroleum products versus 19.4 million tonnes in 2012. In total, last year the port handled about 141 million tonnes of cargo, compared to about 159 million tonnes in 2012.
