Azerbaijan's gas transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum up in 2019

Azerbaijan exported over 10 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline in 2019, which is 19.5 percent more compared to 2018,Trend reports referring to the country’s State Statistical Committee.

Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum accounted for 37.9 percent of the total gas transported by Azerbaijan. The figure rose by 2.2 percent, compared to the previous year.

Over 27.5 billion cubic meters of gas were transported by Azerbaijan through trunk pipelines overall in 2019, which is 17.1 percent more compared to 2018.

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is more than 700 kilometers. This gas pipeline transports the gas produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The gas is supplied to Georgia and Turkey.
