During January-May 2006 Gazexport of Russia (Gazproms subsidiary) delivered nearly 2.033bn cubic meters of gas to Azerbaijan, Trend reports with reference to SOCAR, which shows a 13.5mln cubic meter decrease year-over-year.
In May 2006 the company delivered 340mln cubic meters of gas to Azerbaijan, against 494mln cu m last year.
This year SOCAR plans to purchase nearly 4.5bn cubic meters of gas at $110 per thousand cubic meters. The gas is transferred to the country via Shirvanovka-Kazimagomed pipeline.
The SOCAR said that Gasexport notified that from 1 June the export will be decreased to 10.4 million cu m of gas a day in connection with the summer season. Till December the gas import will be increased to 13.6 million cu m of gas a day.
