Azercell Improves Its Network

Azerbaijan, Baku Trend /Azercell Telecom, an Azerbaijani mobile operator, warns its clients of possible interruptions in telephone services on 25 April beginning from 02.00 am for a few hours. The company announced that this is due to work on improving the operator network.

Azercell carries out periodical work to improve the quality of communications.

At present Azercell have 2.4 mln customers and the company covers 77% of the country's territory and 99% of its residents. It has roaming agreements with 300 operators from over 130 countries world-wide.

Azercell Telecom, founded on 19 January, 1996, is a joint venture between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (35.7%) and Fintur Holdings BV (64.3%). Stock of Fintur Holdings BV is held by TeliaSonera (58.55%) and Turkcell (41.45%).
