The French Alstom company is ready to provide the railways of Azerbaijan with all the necessary equipment both in its territories liberated from Armenian occupation [in the 2020 Second Karabakh War] and in its other regions, Alstom Managing Director of Western and Central Asia Cluster Kanat Alpysbayev told Trend.
According to Alpysbayev, Azerbaijan is a strategically important market for the company.
The level of partnership with Azerbaijan Railways CJSC inspires hope for the dynamic development of cooperation in the field of railways, the managing director noted.
“We are ready to work both on new and ongoing projects. Besides, along with the light rail transport, we can offer services to develop urban transport infrastructure, modern, high-tech and quiet vehicles that will ensure the mobility of the population,” he said.
Alpysbayev added that the implementation of the mentioned initiatives would be a good step for the further development of urban infrastructure, as well as the creation of transport routes between cities and nearby districts.
Previously, the managing director spoke about the readiness of Alstom to work also on railway signaling and communication projects in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region.
