BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 20. As many as 428 railway vehicles at a cost of about 16.2 trillion rials (about $385 million) were put into use in Iran, on December 20, 2022, Trend reports referring to Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Regarding the launch of new railway vehicles in the country, an event was held in Tehran. The event was attended by Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash, his deputy Miad Salehi and other officials.
Of the mentioned figure, 405 new freight wagons and 9 new locomotives (costing 14.1 trillion rials or about $338 million overall) were put into use.
Overall, 1,160 railway vehicles have been put into use in Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 to December 20, 2022).
