BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. In total, approximately 9.3 million tons of various products were loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Persian Gulf oil port in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022) to February 4, 2023, Director General of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Hossein Abbasnejad told IRNA, Trend reports.

“Of the mentioned volume, 8.32 million tons accounted for crude oil and related products, while 981,000 tons for non-oil products,” he said.

Abbasnejad noted that 5.93 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products and 981,000 tons of mining minerals were exported through the Persian Gulf oil port during the reporting period.

The director general added that 2.39 million tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in this port for the purpose of cabotage.

According to Abbasnejad, a total of 1,165 ships docked at the Persian Gulf oil port within the mentioned period. Some 886 of them were ships carrying crude oil and oil products, and 279 were ships carrying mining minerals.

The Persian Gulf oil port is located in Iran's Shahid Rajaee Special Economic Zone. The port has 12 platforms and is considered the largest oil port under Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
