TEHRAN, Iran, May. 8

Trend:

The Secretary of the Iranian Association of Airlines said the modernization of Iran's aviation fleet depends on the outcome of the Vienna talks and the lifting of sanctions.

All Iranian airlines intend to modernize their fleets, the Secretary of the Iranian Association of Airlines, Maghsoud Asadi Samani said, Trend reports citing ISNA.

"Currently, Iran has 150 aircraft in the country's aviation fleet which needs to be repaired and modernized," he said. "Some of which should be decommissioned."

“According to studies conducted by Tarbiat Modares University, the country needs 550 aircraft,” he added.

Asadi Samani expressed hope that the Vienna talks will succeed and the airlines will be able to modernize their fleets.

The secretary of the Association of Airlines says that according to our experience backed to 2015 if the negotiations reach a conclusion, we will be able to purchase good aircraft with proper planning.

Asadi Samani went on to note that although the manufacturing of aircraft in the world is done by order and Iran may be at the end of the queue of large passenger aircraft manufacturing companies after Vienna talks and it may take several years to buy and import an aircraft, but we can, at the current stage, to compensate for the shortcomings with purchasing second-hand aircraft.
