The UAE Air Force has purchased 60 BlackHawk utility helicopters, 20 of which are 20 UH-60L BlackHawks, said the Sikorsky vice-president for Europe and the MENA region, Joseph Gigantelli, on Friday.

The agreement is valued at $300 million, Gigantelli said, adding that deliveries will be made through 2013.

He also revealed that a new aircraft model (40 UH-60M) is to be released in the beginning of the upcoming year, and has already received purchase orders from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt and Bahrain.
