The OSCE Baku Office thinks that the adoption of the new law on "political parties" is an important prerequisite for democracy and pluralism, OSCE Baku Office head Ali Bilge Cankorel told Trend.

"The attitude to the new law has not been fully formed yet. But we have some opinions," Cankorel. "The existing law "Political parties" is old. It should be updated in accordance with existing conditions. It may be required to reflect the new measures in the law. They may support the political parties and help them."

He recalled that the new law will reflect public financing of political parties. He also stressed that this practice exists in almost all countries.

"Perhaps, these questions will be noted when adopting the law," he said.
