Azerbaijani acrobats started successfully the new season at an international tournament held in Vinnitsa, Ukraine.
The current champions of Europe among female pairs Ayla Ahmedova and Dilara Sultanova took second place in the final mixed exercises, the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation reported. After qualifying performance of the two exercises our duet went first but in the final preference was given to Belgian Florence Henrist and Tatiana de Vos.
"Anyway, I am happy with the results of Ayla and Dilara, said their coach Irada Gurbanova. We, like other strong couples, came to Ukraine with completely new programs to run and show them to the judges. We will get better with each new tournament and I believe we will take the top by world championship in Poland.
Junior couple Pyarizad Guliyeva and Afag Maharramli also made us happy in Vinnitsa. Their performances were evaluated as 'good' and they were awarded silver medals.
"Benelux representatives again left us behind in this competition, said I.Gurbanova. In qualifying final round, we were in the same level, almost left them behind but Belgians fulfilled simple combination composition cleaner and more expressive."
Another junior couple also performed in this tournament. Debut of Aynur Huseynova and Narmina Ramazanova brought them to the sixth place in the final, which, according to the coach, is not even bad for the beginning.
The next competitions for our acrobats will be in Azerbaijan on the eve of Novruz and the international tournament in Belgium in April.
