BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. The total number of active taxpayers in Azerbaijan grew as of January 1, 2023, Trend reports citing the State Tax Service of Azerbaijan.
According to the service, this figure amounted to 711,900, up by seven percent year on year.
As of January 1 this year, the number of active payers of VAT increased by 15.1 percent on annual basis and reached 39,900, while the number of economic entities - by 12.3 percent - up to 165,000.
The turnover via cash registers of the new generation exceeded 19.5 billion manat ($11.4 billion) in Azerbaijan in 2022, which is 26.6 percent more than in 2021.
Up until now, more than 83,210 cash registers of the new generation have been installed in markets and service locations.
