Inflation rate in North Kazakhstan exceeds 7 percent

Inflation in the North-Kazakhstan region reached 7.1 percent in 2017.

Prices for food products in the mentioned period increased by 5.8 percent, non-food products - by 8.1 percent, paid services - by 7.8 percent.

Over the year, prices on confectionery products went up by more than 17 percent. Prices on non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, dairy products, meat, fish and seafood also increased by 10 percent.

Prices for vehicles increased by 6.8 percent, diesel fuel by 36.9 percent, gasoline - by 17.9 percent, coal - by 10.3 percent, liquefied gas in cylinders - by 9.2 percent.

Services in housing and communal services have also risen in price. Water price increased by 28.4 percent, heating by 21.6 percent, gas by 14.1 percent, cold water, sewage by 8.5 percent.

The living wage in North Kazakhstan amounted to 21,000 tenge ($ 63) in December 2017.
