Iran's Yazd Province reveals export data for 6 months

In the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 21) exports of Iran's Yazd Province, in comparison to the same period of the previous year, increased by 8 percent in terms of value and 31 percent in terms of weight, Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Yazd Mohammad Reza Alamdar Yazdi said, Shata reported.

In the first six months of the current Iranian year, 1.379 million tons of goods worth $281 million were exported from the province, Alamdar Yazdi Said.

Main exports during the reported period are tiles and ceramics, various steel products, plastic bags, glass containers, molybdenum oxide, hydrocarbon, various pipes, moquette, pistachio and pistachio kernels, he said.

Among the mentioned products, tiles and ceramics accounted for 46 percent of the province's exports in terms of value, and 88 percent in terms of weight, Alamdar Yazdi added.

"The goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, the Netherlands, Georgia, South Korea, Belgium, Austria and Germany. In terms of value, 46 percent of the goods were exported to Iraq, and meanwhile, in terms of weight, the exports to Iraq accounted to 67 percent of the total exports of Yazd," he said.
