Ankara offers cheapest housing among major Turkish cities

Among major cities of Turkey, Ankara offers the cheapest housing to those who want to purchase estate, Trend reports referring to Turkish General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre.

Housing in Ankara can now be purchased at the price of 2,014 Turkish liras per square meter. In Izmir, one square meter costs 3,000 Turkish liras. Istanbul, where a square meter costs 4,701 liras, not surprisingly, tops the list.

As a whole, in February 2019, housing prices in new buildings in Turkey increased by 4.1 percent and apartment prices in the secondary real estate market increased by 3.27 percent compared to February 2018. During the reported period, housing prices in new buildings in Istanbul decreased by 2.67 percent, and the prices of apartments in the secondary market fell by 2.06 percent. According to the information provided by the Directorate, in February 2019, prices for new buildings in Ankara increased by 8.14 percent, while prices for apartments in the secondary market increased by only 1.72 percent .
