Uzbekistan's agricultural cluster expans its production

The Jizzax Organic agricultural cluster has expanded its production extensively, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

The expansion of Jizzax Organic agricultural cluster created 250 jobs in Jizzakh region.

"Increasing the number of jobs is an important factor in maintaining the welfare of the people. Currently, the unemployment rate in Jizzax region is 9.2 percent. The number of cases of coronavirus in Jizzax region is small, so people can work without risk for health, if they observe sanitary rules. Jobs in Jizzax Organic will reduce the negative impact of the pandemic on the economy," the message said.

The cluster plans to increase the area under fodder crops to 5,700 hectares. In addition, the company has expanded its agricultural machinery fleet. The volume of machinery imports from Europe reached $8.7 million.

The cluster also expects the delivery of 2,500 head of Dorper breeding sheep from Australia and of 5,000 head of breeding cattle from America and Russia, including 2,000 Angus bulls from Miratorg, the largest producer of meat on the Russian market.

Jizzax Organic, established in accordance with the instruction of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev, is engaged in the production of meat and dairy products, crop farming and livestock breeding. The nearest plans of the Jizzax cluster are to become the largest producer of marble beef in Uzbekistan. The total amount of investment in the company stands at $150 million.
