BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 9

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region has implemented a rice harvesting plan, Trend reports with reference to “Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age).

More than 35,000 tons of crops were harvested from 8,100 hectares of rice plantations in Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region.

The first rice harvest in the region was collected in the 27-Oktyabr farm association in the district named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi, where rice was grown on 3,350 hectares of land.

As a result of state investments, a rice cleaning enterprise was built in the Dashoguz region, capable of delivering up to 30,000 tons of corresponding products per year, the report says.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.

The development of agriculture is carried out on a scientific basis. Various types of crops are grown taking into account the agro-ecological characteristics of the country's regions.

Special attention is paid to increasing the volume of products in Turkmenistan. As a result, in recent years, the country has increased the production of vegetables and fruit and berries and enlarged the area of perennial plants, vineyards, and greenhouses.
