At present, the sphere of standardization and patents in Azerbaijan functions on base of normative base and standards adopted during the former Soviet Union, Ramiz Hasanov, the head of the State Agency on Standardization, Metrology and Patents, informed Trend.
According to him, it is necessary to hold reforms in this sphere to upgrade and modernize it in conformity with the world and European standards.
At the moment, we have developed a bill meeting all the world requirements, on technical regulation within the requirements of the World Trade Organization (WTO), told Hasanov.
The document has already been submitted to the state head for consideration.
The experiences and recommendations of foreign experts were used during the development of the bill.
