Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Aliyev/ Marlen Asgarov, the Vice-President of "Azerenerji" JSC, has said today that Azerbaijan is expected to launch returning its electric power debts to Iran starting from May, 2007. "However, the Country plans to resume electric power import from Russia prior to it," he said.
The amount of Azerbaijan's electric power debt to Iran makes up about 400 mln. KWatt per hour of electric power. Due to electric supplies from Iran, Azerbaijan provides its enclave- Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with electricity. The amount of the electric power supplies to Nakhchivan from Iran is 60-100 MWatt of electric power.
Notably, in March, 2007, Azerbaijan received 17.98 mln. KWatt per hour of electric energy from Iran.
