Kazakhstan's airline companies boost passenger transportation

Kazakhstan’s airline companies have transported 9.4 million passengers in 2021, which is 71 percent more than in 2020, when 5.5 million passengers were transported, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Civil Aviation Committee.

At the same time, the 2021 results are also higher that the pre-pandemic levels, as the number of transported passengers stood at 8.6 million people in 2019.

Kazakh airline companies transported 7.6 million passengers in domestic routes in 2021, which is more than 4.6 million people both in 2020 and 2019. Number of passengers on international routes stood at 1.8 million people compared to 0.8 people in 2020 and 3.3 million in 2019.

The passenger turnover of Air Astana amounted to 3.6 million people, up by 59 percent, of FlyArystan to 3.1 million people, uo by 109 percent, of SCAT tp 2.1 million passengers, up by 62 percent.

The number of passengers served in Kazakh airports stood at 17.4 million people, which is 63 percent more than in 2020 (10.7 million people in 2020 and 17.7 million people in 2019.

The number of domestic routes increased by 12 routes following the post-pandemic flights restoration. Currently, local companies carry out flights on 57 routes, i.e. 605 flights a week.

International routes were resumed with 25 countries (Turkey, UAE, Uzbekistan, Russia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Tajikistan. South Korea, The Netherlands, Poland, Armenia, the UK, Hungary, Maldives, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Sri-Lanka, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, Vietnam). The flights are carried out on 79 routes 260 times a week.
