BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 1. The average price level in the consumer market of Uzbekistan increased by 0.5 percent in August 2022, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
From January through August 2022, the increase in prices in the consumer sector reached 7 percent with an average monthly value of 0.8 percent.
In annual terms, the increase in consumer prices amounted to 12.3 percent.
The leader in price growth for the month of August 2022 was food products, which on average rose by 0.7 percent per month.
Non-food products and paid services to the population increased in price by 0.4 percent over the month.
The increase in food prices in the first eight months of 2022 reached 8.5 percent.
Non-food products from January through August 2022 increased in price by 7.2 percent.
