Iran exported about 4.48 million tons of crude steel and 2.61 million tons of steel products during 11 months of last year (started on March 21, 2018), Trend reports referring the Iranian Steel Producers Association's statistics.
The export of crude steel dropped by 26 percent in Iran over the past 11 months. However, export of steel products increased by 90 percent.
The export of crude steel during the first 11 months reached 6.04 million tons, while export of steel products - 1.37 million tons in the previous year (started on March 21, 2017).
The export of steel billet and steel bloom totaled 2.93 million tons during 11 months and decreased by 13 percent compared to the previous year (3.35 million tons).
Some 1.55 million tons of steel slab were exported, which is 42 percent less compared to the previous year (2.69 million tons).
During the first 11 months of last year, 507,000 tons of sponge iron were exported, which is 21 percent less compared to the previous year (639,000 tons).
