In January 2010, the Public budget income comprised 973 million manats, or 30.3 percent of GDP. This index decreased by 2.4 percent, compared to the same period in 2009, the government said.
Public budget expenditures increased by 32.7 percent and made up 320.4 million manat (10 percent of the GDP). The surpluses of the budget totaled 652.6 million manat (20.3 percent of GDP).
The Taxes Ministry remitted 51.5 percent of all income, or 501.5 million manat to the Public budget. The State Customs Committee remitted 65.2 million manat (with a special weight of 6.7 percent) in taxes and duties to the public budget.
In this period a total of 170.5 million manats was obtained from VAT, or 17.5 percent of all income, 287.1 million manat (29.5 percent) - profit taxes, 32.7 million manats (3.4 percent) - income taxes, 36.6 million manat (3.8 percent) - excise taxes, 2 million manats (0.2 percent) - property taxes, and 11.9 million manats (1.2 percent) -royalties and 10.3 million manat (one percent) -taxes from foreign economic activities.
In January 2010, the public budget expense for social security and provision of people comprised 165.4 million manats (with a weight of 51.6 percent), 19.6 million manat (6.1 percent) was spent on education, 1.2 million (0.4 percent) - health, 16 million (5 percent) - maintenance of prosecutor bodies, security and law-enforcement and court bodies, 58.8 million (18.4 percent)- investment allocations, 2.9 million (2.9 percent) - housing and communal services, 3.9 million (1.2 percent) - agriculture, fishing, 2 million (0.6 percent) - transport and communications, and 60.2 percent (193 million manats) of Public expenses were spent on the payment of salaries, pension and allowances.
