The U.S. and Israel have failed to heal their deepest dispute in decades as a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ended without resolution to the rift, AP reported.
American officials said late Wednesday that last-minute talks between Netanyahu and U.S. Mideast peace envoy George Mitchell had not resolved tensions over Israeli construction in territory claimed by the Palestinians.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the talks were confidential.
