The incident with a Syrian Airlines' A320 jet, which the Turkish Air Force forced to land in Ankara, will not affect the Russian-Turkish relations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday, Itar-Tass reported.

"I reassure you that no one should worry about the state of the Russia-Turkey relations. They are developing on a stable and solid basis," Lavrov said.

Commenting on the situation over the incident, the Russian foreign minister once again stressed that the cargo onboard the jet "belonged to a Russian organization and was destined for the Syrian side."

"It was a legal cargo. It was shipped legally," he said and added that Russia wants comments from the Turkish side.

Luxemburg's Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn noted that Turkey and Russia are long friends and pledged that the European Union will do its best to keep them friends.
