BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 9. The value of Baku's trade turnover increased by 5 percent and totaled 30.81 billion manat ($18.1 billion) in 2022 compared to 2021, Trend reports via the Baku City Statistics Department.

Sales of foodstuffs, drinks, and tobacco products in Baku during the accounting period rose by 16.9 percent compared to 2021, up to 18.6 billion manat ($10.9 billion).

Meanwhile, sales of non-food products decreased by 9 percent, reaching 12.1 billion manat ($7.1 billion).

According to the department, 32.5 percent of the sold products accounted for enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 52.3 percent - for trade facilities owned by individuals, and 15.2 percent - for markets of Baku.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totaled $52.6 billion in 2022, up by $18.7 billion (55.36 percent) on an annual basis - from $33.9 billion to $52.6 billion.
