The exports of Iran from the Qazvin Province (northern Iran) decreased by 36 percent in terms of value and 34 percent in terms of volume during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Qazvin Province Azizollah Afzali said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.
The chairman stressed that 328,000 tons of goods worth $161 million were exported from Qazvin Province during the reporting period.
"The exported goods were mainly steel and iron products, eggs, potatoes, glassware and etc.," he added.
Afzali also said that the goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Syria, the UAE, Oman, Pakistan, and other countries.
According to him, it is planned to export $340 million worth of products from the Qazvin Province in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2021). Within 7 months, 47 percent of this plan was fulfilled.
"Furthermore, 69,000 tons of goods worth $353 million were imported to the province in seven months," Afzali said.
The chairman emphasized the imported goods increased by 6 percent in terms of value and decreased by 18 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Afzali noted that the imported goods were mainly raw materials, various compressors, and manufacturing equipment.
"The goods were mainly imported from the UAE, China, India, Uzbekistan, and Switzerland," he added.
