By Fakhri Vakilov – Trend:

The Danish investment bank Saxo Bank has revealed the five most popular stocks in the first quarter of 2019 in Kazakhstan, Trend reports via Kapital.kz.

The shares of Facebook social network hold the first spot, followed by shares of Boeing Co., Microsoft Corp. Apple Inc. and Netflix.

Peter Garnry, Head of Saxo Bank's Strategy on the Stock Market, said that the fourth quarter of 2018 has become a killer, not only for stocks, but for earnings projected for all major world stock indices.

“However, after the historic moment, which marked the transition of the Federal Reserve System to a new monetary policy, and with improved performance in Asia, stock markets were able to recover from the slaughter they had to go through in the fourth quarter of 2018. US stocks almost completely returned to their record highs last year. The main factors here are monetary policy, optimism about the trade deal between the US and China and the improvement of macro-indicators in Asia. The fourth factor in the growth of global securities could be the opening of the first quarter earnings season,” Garnry said.

All clients (from the beginning of the year up to the present, in percentage):

1. Facebook Inc. (+34 percent)

2. NVIDIA Corp. (+43 percent)

3. Tesla Inc. (-17.5 percent)

4. Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (+35.5 percent)

5. Netflix Inc. (+35.5 percent)
