BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 22. Kazakhstan received $14.5 billion worth of foreign direct investments (FDIs) during 6M2022, a 28 percent increase compared to the first half of 2021, Almas Aidarov, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.
“Despite geopolitical circumstances, investors retained a positive attitude toward our country. By the end of the calendar year, we hope to attract the earlier planned $24 billion,” Aidarov noted.
The deputy minister also stated that the government intends to attract $150 billion worth of FDIs in the next 7 years.
Last year, Kazakhstan was able to return to the pre-pandemic FDI level by attracting $23.7 billion of investments.
