BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. Kazakhstan produced 112.86 billion kw/hour of electricity in 2022, Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC), said in a statement, Trend reports, citing the press service of KEGOC.

According to the company, Kazakh residents consumed 112.94 billion kw/hour in 2022. Consequently, domestic demand exceeded supply by 100 million kw/hour.

The volume of electricity transmission services amounted to 58.57 billion kw/hour, which is an increase of 7.2 percent compared to 2021.

The energy consumption peaked at the 16,459 MW level on 7 December 2022. Meanwhile, the energy generation on the same date reached 15,203 MW.

KEGOC JSC performs the functions of the system operator of the Unified Electric Power System of Kazakhstan, owns and manages the assets of the National Electric Grid. The company operates as a natural monopoly. KEGOC is a subsidiary of “Samruk-Kazyna” Sovereign Welfare Fund JSC.
