Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting with Secretary General of Algeria’s Foreign Ministry Hassan Rabehi, said the Uzbek Foreign Ministry in a message Oct. 20.
Rabehi has visited Tashkent to attend the 43rd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), according to the message.
Topical issues of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral format were discussed during the meeting, said the message.
The sides confirmed their mutual interest in progressive development of relations in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres, considering the creation of a stable contractual-legal base of the Uzbek-Algerian relations and the intensification of contacts at various levels as an important step, according to the message.
A protocol on cooperation and consultations between the two countries’ foreign ministries was signed as a result of the meeting.
Hassan Rabehi, for his part, congratulated the Uzbek side with the fruitful results of the completed 43rd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers and wished successful chairmanship under the slogan “Education and Enlightenment: the Path to Peace and Creativity”, which is important for the OIC member states.
