( dpa ) - Lebanese Christian opposition leader Michel Aoun said Monday that the assassination of Hezbollah's military commander Imad Muganiyeh was an aggression against both Lebanon and Syria.
"The assassination of Muganiyeh is a clear aggression on Lebanon and Syria," Aoun told a press conference at his residence in Rabiyeh, north of Beirut.
He said "many people felt endangered after the (Muganiyeh) assassination and I am not talking about domestic (figures), but outside Lebanon as well."
Muganiyeh was killed February 12 in a car bombing in the Syrian capital of Damascus.
Hezbollah has blamed Israel and pledged to attack Jewish targets worldwide in retaliation. Israel has denied any involvement in the attack.
