Merkel to visit Ukraine on July 21

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is to visit Ukraine on July 21, deputy government spokesman Thomas Steg said Friday in Berlin, reported dpa.

Merkel is to meet in Kiev with President Viktor Yushchenko, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and opposition leader Viktor Yanukovich. Steg said Merkel would discuss closer links between Ukraine and the European Union and NATO as well as domestic Ukraine developments.
