The largest number of private enterprises operating in 2020 was revealed in Tashkent city of Uzbekistan, amounting 12,855 enterprises, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
As of the beginning of 2021, the number of operating business entities (excluding farms and family farms) in Uzbekistan amounted to 414,186, of which 90,721 are private enterprises (21.9 percent).
According to the committee, the second region in list of private enterprises operating in 2020 was Fergana region with 11,323 private enterprises. It is followed by Kashkadarya region – 9,315, Namangan region – 7,197 and Surkhandarya region – 7,059 enterprises.
It was noted that trade sphere accounts for the largest number of private enterprises operating during the reported period – 34,364 enterprises.
As for industry and accommodation and food services, the number of private enterprises operating in these spheres in 2020 amounted to 16,381 and 7,982, respectively.
At the same time, 7,825 private enterprises in construction sector and 6,686 private enterprises in agriculture, forestry and fisheries operated last year.
