A representative of Iranian Foreign Ministry Kamal Amirbiek has been detained on charges of spying, Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei said.

He was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment and will pay $270,000 worth fine,” noted the judiciary spokesman, ISNA reported.

Referring to the crime related to those who distribute denatured alcoholic liquor, he said making alcoholic liquor is a crime and 18 people were arrested on these charges. As many as 38 people were poisoned and lost their life by drinking denatured alcohol, noted Mohseni-Ejei.

In response to a question on the case of Babak Zanjani's accessory, he said that the investigation continues.

Zanjani was arrested in 2013 on charges of embezzling state oil revenues and later convicted to be hanged.

In 2016, the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Court upheld the death sentence against Zanjani who worked as a middleman, selling Iranian oil through companies, mainly affiliated with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), in the years when international sanctions restricted Iran oil exports and banking relations, during Ahmadineja’s second term, 2009-2013.
