Iran sees increase in employment rate

TEHRAN, Iran, Sep. 20

Trend:

The number of employment and hiring in Iran has increased during spring by 713,247 people compared to the same period last Iranian year (started March 20, 2020) that was due to the decline of Coronavirus effect on the job market, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.

Centre of Statistics Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare has released a report comparing labor force survey result issued by the Statistical Centre of Iran that compared the number of employed individuals in the spring of 2020 and 2021.

The number of employees in the spring of 2021 has increased compared to the spring of 2020. The number of employees in the construction sector has increased to 381,307 people compared to the spring of 2020 due to the increase in construction activities in Iran and it is expected that industrial sectors such as cement, tile, and other construction material production will flourish.

The number of workers in the agricultural sector in the spring of 2021 had declined compared to the spring of 2020 by 14,007 people that indicate the halt of employment growth in the following sector.

In education, the sector number of workers declined due to the effect of Coronavirus by 84,834 people while workers in the health and social aid sector reduced by 45,866 due to the closure of private clinics.

The employment in the mining sector has increased by 25,469 people that continue to grow, while in the textile and clothing sectors employment declined by 20,818 and 36,186 people due to the recession caused by the COVID-19 spread.

The number of workers in the chemical products sector has declined by 575 people due to the saturation of detergent and sanitizers in the market. The workers in the production of transportation equipment have increased by 1,613 people as the number of workers in road transportation had risen to 29,200 people and workers in the air shipment section increased by 8,445 people.
